The School of Technology Management at NMIMS Navi Mumbai Campus’ INFINIX cluborganized its first Programming Quiz Competitionon the 31st august ,2019. NMIMS adheres to the adage, "The true development of an individual is not complete until and unless those skills are put to use in a stress-free, co-curricular scenario”.
The INFINIX competition held on the weekend is an example of just that. With healthy participation from both MBA Tech and B-Tech students, the focus of the competition was to gauge the participants’ logical and analytical skills, thereby improving their application of the programming languages. In order to not single out participants adept in their respective programming languages, and bring uniformity amongst the plethora of competitors, the scope of the quiz was extended to include C, C++, Java and Python.
Venturing out from the traditional methods of learning, one of the top ‘to-do’s’ on the list was to push the minds of the participants to their very limits without disturbing the delicate equilibrium of the fun, exciting aura and engaging questions. The competition was conducted in four rounds; and similar to the rungs of the ladder, the higher you go the greater your fall. Each round was more demanding than the one before, each one pushing the participants to dig into their stack of knowledge, for the tiniest, most creative, imaginative bit of information that they could use to answer the question.
Times like these are where NMIMS differentiates itself from the traditional institutions, in the ever demanding and treacherous landscape NMIMS takes the initiative to move past the conventional curriculum and provide its students with the ammunition to dominate the competition that rages beyond these walls. The competition allowed the participants to hone their coding skills in a manner which they never experienced before. All in all, the first event held by the INFINIX club was a roaring success, first of many to come.
