PARTICIPATION IN KIPSTA CUP (FOOTBALL) 2019
LEADING TO THE VICTORY
On the day of July-27,2019, at Astro Park, lower Parel; the students of NMIMS Navi Mumbai
carried on the tradition of being in the process of continuous growth by participating in the
Kipsta Cup 5, a side rink football tournament, held by Decathlon India
The tournament was played in knock-out format. The tournament was a large scale event as
the16 top teams of Mumbai were more than ready to participate and win it. The NMIMS Navi
Mumbai team performed gloriously and beat fancied teams, enroute to reach the semifinal
stage. The team beat BQUICK (representatives of a leading foreign bank) in the first round
quite advantageously with an impressive score of 5-0 and in the quarter finals, the team beat
CFCI (they are a leading team affiliated with Mumbai FC) with a massive score of 3-1. In the
semifinals, the team played cordially but eventually lost to Kalina Rangers with a threadlike
score line of 1-2. The Kalina Rangers then went on ruthlessly and won the tournament. The
point to be noted here is that the Kalina Rangers is the national champion of Rink football and
recently went all the way to Brazil to train under the very famous Neymar Jr's academy.
The fact to be bragged upon is that the NMIMS Navi Mumbai team also includes players who
are currently playing in MDFA league (senior divisions) and have also played at National level
previously for clubs.
The dedicated team comprised of the following players:

3) Aryan Irani
4) Bhavesh Mehta
5) Shashwat Pattu
The team looks forward to participate in other football tournaments in the future representing
the institute and to carry on the heritage of NMIMS.
