The School of Business Management at NMIMS Navi Mumbai held the 3rd edition of its flagship event – AVION 2019 on the 20th and 21st of September 2019.The event was organized by the Business Events Committee and keeping in focus the motto of wholistic development at NMIMS, the theme of the event was pegged as INDUSTRY 4.0.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution from which comes the term Industry 4.0 is based on the concept of cyber-physical systems. In this system, all the elements are represented in a virtual world through an avatar that allows goods, objects, machines and people to communicate with each other and to determine certain events which in turn help to support our decisions.
The Event was spread out over a two-day timeline and saw various eminent dignitaries from the corporate world come to our campus and enlighten the students with their thoughts over the much hyped buzzword Industry 4.0 and share their views from the Industry perspective.
The event saw active participation from the students of various B-Schools at NMIMS Navi Mumbai primarily including the batches from PGDM and BBA. The event was highly interactive in nature with the students and the dignitaries engaging in fruitful discussions post the completion of the speaker’s key note address.
Day 1 of the event commenced with the inauguration and welcome address by Dr. P.N. Mukherjee, Director, NMIMS Navi Mumbai campus. This was followed by a special address by Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University. The keynote address was made by Mr. Ronald Sequeira. Several other speakers spoke on the theme of Industry 4.0 giving us their valuable insights.

Day 2 of the event was led by two keynote speakers presenting their keynote address followed by an enlightening panel discussion consisting of 7 members who spoke about the essential aspects of Industry 4.0

The Panelists discussed the theme with respect to the industry preparedness for the fourth revolution, steps that students should take in order to better equip themselves to sustain this revolution and also spoke on the theme from their industry perspective.
The session was highly interactive in nature with a plethora of students asking their doubts over the current buzzword of Industry 4.0 and how they could better equip themselves and enhance their skillsets to sustain the revolution.
Such are the events by virtue of which NMIMS differentiates itself from the traditional institutions, in the ever demanding and treacherous landscape NMIMS takes the initiative to move past the conventional curriculum and provide its students with the ammunition to dominate the competition that rage beyond the walls of redundancy.
An investment in knowledge pays best in interest; so was Avion 2019. The session was overall a great success and resulted in the students enlightening themselves with knowledge of the varioustopics.
The Business Events Committee is dedicated towards providing such enriching experiences to students and keeping them up to date with the various business and technological advancements in the world and thus in return equipping them with the power to excel in every field they choose.
